Concessionary rate policy

A standard rate of charges applies to all lettings. Charges are based on the local authority scale of charging for hire of school premises.

The charges have been developed in conjunction with schools and centres and reflect not only a fair rate for each site, but also plans to develop activity within individual schools or centres. To further support the development of certain activities, a three-band concession rate system is employed.

1.Private companies.

2.Groups/organisations in receipt of income to cover the cost of lettings. The income may be from sources such as subscriptions, grants or private finance.

50%

Groups/organisations in receipt of limited income to cover the cost of lettings and directly benefiting the school or local community.

25%

Groups/organisations in receipt of very limited income to cover the cost of lettings and directly benefiting the school or local community

In very special circumstances, a 0% charge may be agreed. This, however, would be for a limited period only and would be subject to Board approval.
